Blogging allows you to connect with a community and exchange feedback, which in turn improves your business and practices. The community you build around your blog will determine its success in the long run. If you don’t have an engaged readership, you’re simply publishing to an audience that isn’t there.

How I Work
As your freelance blog copywriter, I’ll write engaging content broken down into headings, sub-headings and paragraphs while using language that’s easy to understand. The way people read online is changing and we tend to scan information rather than commit our full attention to a page. Given this emerging trend, I make sure that your audience are directed towards the most important information on your website pages first using carefully selected keywords and persuasive language.
Before we take on any new blog copywriting project, we like to get to know the client first. We’ll arrange an initial meeting (by telephone, email, Skype, or face-to-face) to learn more about your business and what you hope to achieve from working with us.
How Much Does Blog Copywriting Cost?
Blog copywriting costs can vary quite significantly. There’s no shortage of writers offering $10 blog posts on content mills but how likely are they to develop your brand as a thought leader?
A professional blog copywriter will take the time to research topics, properly structure articles and back up points with statistics and case studies. My posts can also include on-page SEO to maximise each article’s visibility in search engines.
I believe in being as up-front as possible when it comes to pricing. My day rate is £500 and I provide a price per blog post, so you’ll know exactly how much the work will cost up front. Some of the factors that I consider when pricing for blog copywriting include:
- How many blog posts need written
- The number of words required per post
- How much research is involved
- Whether tone of voice guidelines are required
- Whether on-page SEO should be considered
- How many revisions are needed
- The project deadline
To provide some context, I typically charge from £450 for a well-researched, well-cited, 1,000-word thought leadership blog post. Here are a few examples of posts I’ve written that would fall into this category:
- Cybersecurity: How Skilled is the Tech Workforce?
- Women in IT: What Does 2019 Hold for Gender Diversity?
- The Benefits of Nearshore Software Development in the Modern Agricultural Industry
- How Staff Augmentation Can Benefit Your Internet of Things (IoT) Project
I offer three rounds of revisions per article. However, I always aim to please and am usually happy to make additional tweaks at no extra cost until you’re happy with the copy. My prices include all ongoing correspondence with the client, editing, proofreading and amendments.
