Blogging allows you to connect with a community and exchange feedback, which in turn improves your business and practices. The community you build around your blog will determine its success in the long run. If you don’t have an engaged readership, you’re simply publishing to an audience that isn’t there.

A 1005% Increase in Traffic in 9 Months For Success at School
In May 2015, I embarked on a year-long SEO campaign with Mitesh Bhimjiyani, founder of the student careers website Success at School. Over the course of the year, I helped increase his website traffic from 7,029 sessions per month to 77,698 by using SEO copywriting best practices and a carefully planned content strategy.
Thought Leadership Articles for FinTech Company WiseTime
WiseTime is a software development company who required thought leadership articles to grow their presence in the timekeeping software marketplace. I wrote a series of articles on emerging technologies, billing optimisation and cyber security.
Thought Leadership Articles for Technology Job Site CWJobs
CWJobs’ approached us because of our previous recruitment copywriting work. I was asked to help strenghten the CWJobs brand by writing authoritative, engaging thought leadership articles. The content had to reflect the company’s professional tone and provide detailed insights into the individual topics.
Thought Leadership Articles for Graduate Recruitment Platform, Milkround
Having worked with Total Jobs Group for a number of years, I was asked to write for another of their platforms, Milkround. I provide thought leadership articles and recruitments guides for the website, aimed at helping employers attract graduate talent.
SEO-focused Articles for Global Recruitment Company, Brunel
I write regular articles for Brunel’s recruitment blog, covering the global energy industry. My content forms part of a larger SEO campaign for the company and our articles perform well in organic search.
Thought Leadership Articles for Software Development Company BairesDev
Alongside several other content providers, I was invited to tender to become BairesDev’s copywriting partner. My proposal was successful and I was invited to collaborate with the company on their content marketing strategy. They required high volume content in the form of thought leadership articles to be published on various tech websites.
A Content Marketing Strategy and Content Creation for Tech Software Company Netscan
I wass asked by Netscan to help them develop and execute a content marketing strategy for their new website. Web Real-Time Communications is still a relatively new open-source platform and Netscan needed a writer who understood the communications industry and was willing to carry out research.
Content Strategy and Content Creation for Lifestyle Clothing Company Passenger
After confirming a contract with Passenger, I drew up a content marketing strategy to help launch the website’s new blog. I managed to secure interviews with some of the surfing industry’s biggest influencers, including photographers, surfboard shapers and the guys behind the UK’s first ever wave garden.
2,700 Shares Within 48 hours With One Article for Virgin's Entrepreneur Channel
I was asked by Virgin Entrepreneur’s online editor to write a series of articles about the rise of flexible working in the UK, based on survey results that Virgin had gathered. Our post ’20 Years in Counting: Research Predicts Offices Will Soon No Longer Exist’ was one of the most popular articles in Virgin’s flexible working series.
How I Work
As your freelance blog copywriter, I’ll write engaging content broken down into headings, sub-headings and paragraphs while using language that’s easy to understand. The way people read online is changing and we tend to scan information rather than commit our full attention to a page. Given this emerging trend, I make sure that your audience are directed towards the most important information on your website pages first using carefully selected keywords and persuasive language.
Before we take on any new blog copywriting project, we like to get to know the client first. We’ll arrange an initial meeting (by telephone, email, Skype, or face-to-face) to learn more about your business and what you hope to achieve from working with us.
How Much Does Blog Copywriting Cost?
Blog copywriting costs can vary quite significantly. There’s no shortage of writers offering $10 blog posts on content mills but how likely are they to develop your brand as a thought leader?
A professional blog copywriter will take the time to research topics, properly structure articles and back up points with statistics and case studies. My posts can also include on-page SEO to maximise each article’s visibility in search engines.
I believe in being as up-front as possible when it comes to pricing. My day rate is £450 and I provide a price per blog post, so you’ll know exactly how much the work will cost up front. Some of the factors that I consider when pricing for blog copywriting include:
- How many blog posts need written
- The number of words required per post
- How much research is involved
- Whether tone of voice guidelines are required
- Whether on-page SEO should be considered
- How many revisions are needed
- The project deadline
To provide some context, I typically charge from £350 for a well-researched, well-cited, 1,000-word thought leadership blog post. Here are a few examples of posts I’ve written that would fall into this category:
- Cybersecurity: How Skilled is the Tech Workforce?
- Women in IT: What Does 2019 Hold for Gender Diversity?
- The Benefits of Nearshore Software Development in the Modern Agricultural Industry
- How Staff Augmentation Can Benefit Your Internet of Things (IoT) Project
I offer three rounds of revisions per article. However, I always aim to please and am usually happy to make additional tweaks at no extra cost until you’re happy with the copy. My prices include all ongoing correspondence with the client, editing, proofreading and amendments.
