Strategic Messaging and Website Copywriting for SG Strategy
SG Strategy is a commercial strategy consultancy working with businesses, investors and organisations across international markets.
Its work combines market insight, commercial analysis and primary research to support a range of strategic and commercial decisions.
I was commissioned to review and rewrite the company’s website messaging and copy. The project focused on refining SG Strategy’s positioning, communicating the value of its work and creating stronger connections across its expertise, services and sector experience.
Defining the positioning
SG Strategy has extensive research and consulting capabilities spanning several areas of commercial strategy.
Through the discovery process, I worked with the team to refine how these capabilities were presented and establish a clearer overarching proposition for the business.
This provided the foundation for the website messaging, helping communicate SG Strategy’s expertise in a more commercially focused and consistent way.
Building the messaging architecture
Before rewriting the website, I developed a messaging architecture to establish the main narrative and provide a foundation for the individual pages.
The process brought together SG Strategy’s positioning, services, expertise and points of difference within a consistent structure that could be applied across the site.
This gave each page a defined role within the wider narrative, creating greater consistency without making the content repetitive.
Connecting expertise with client needs
The existing website contained extensive detail about SG Strategy’s capabilities. My role was to make the commercial relevance of this expertise more prominent and accessible.
I restructured and rewrote the content across the company’s main service and sector pages, drawing on project examples and areas of expertise to demonstrate the scope of SG Strategy’s work.
The resulting structure gives prospective clients clearer routes through the website and a stronger sense of how the consultancy can support different commercial requirements.
Refining the tone
The tone had to reflect the experience of SG Strategy’s team without relying heavily on conventional consultancy language.
I developed the copy in a direct, commercially focused style, reducing jargon and making complex ideas more accessible.
The company’s senior expertise and project experience were incorporated throughout the site, helping support the wider positioning with evidence from its work.
Creating a consistent website narrative
The final copy covered the main corporate, service and sector sections of the website, including the homepage, About content, service pages, sector pages and Careers.
Across these pages, I created a consistent narrative connecting SG Strategy’s proposition with its expertise, experience and client work.
Project examples and sector experience were integrated throughout the copy, providing evidence of the company’s capabilities without interrupting the wider website narrative.
Outcome
The new messaging gives SG Strategy a clearer and more consistent way to communicate its positioning, expertise and approach.
The website presents the company’s capabilities within a stronger commercial context, supported by relevant project and sector experience.
The resulting copy provides SG Strategy with a more cohesive foundation for communicating with prospective clients and senior decision-makers across international markets.
