Copy for Seasonal Campaigns, Window Dressing, Print Adverts, Placards and a Print Booklet for Independent Jeweller Jamieson & Carry

Jamieson & Carry is an independent, family-run jewellers in Aberdeen, established in 1733.

Creative marketing agency Mearns & Gill asked me to help write the copy for some print adverts for their client Jamieson & Carry. These adverts were to appear in the Grampian Wedding Directory and Aberdeen’s Press and Journal.

Part of the process of writing these adverts involved looking at previous print ad campaigns that Mearns & Gill had created for the client. After familiarizing ourselves with the brand’s tone of voice, we wrote the copy to promote Jamieson & Carry’s bespoke wedding ring design service. This project also involved creating a tagline to introduce the advert and attract readers’ interest. Mearns & Gill were pleased with the copy that we produced and alongside their remarkable design, the advert was published in the Grampian Wedding Directory.

Having worked with Mearns & Gill on this project, I was also asked to write the copy for another print ad, to be published in Aberdeen’s Press and Journal. The brief behind the ad was to promote the client’s interest free credit campaign. As part of this project I also had to include a representative example and a strong call to action for people to visit the store online and in person.

Additionally, I also helped Mearns & Gill generate ideas for Jamieson & Carry’s spring campaign. I was asked to come up with some taglines that could potentially be displayed on the client’s store front to complement Mearns & Gill’s visual design.

I was also involved in writing the copy for a printed booklet, specifically aimed at men for Valentine’s Day. ‘A Gentleman’s Guide to Valentines Day’ was very well received by shoppers and local businesses alike.
